Travelling is something my soul, my mind and maybe even my hair crave constantly. I am still smiling when I think about last weekend that I spend in Hamburg together with my boyfriend, it was surprise trip for him and it was a fantastic few days.
When I travel, even for a few days, I still think how I will look after my hair and over the years I developed special technique for quick and easy hair fix, when I cannot bring all my
magical hair poisons.
Restore your hair – when I am flying even for a couple of hours I still feel slightly dehydrated and I can feel that on my skin and hair. I always like to bring face and hair masks with me – I think it is such a nice feeling to arrive at your new destination, jump into shower and give yourself and your hair a bit of pamper after all the stress during travelling (I tend to get stressed for no reason before my flights, do you?). Or if you lucky enough to travel to hot country for a holiday hair masks are great if you planning to spend a lot of time in the sun.
Wash your hair – flying and dry air is not the best for our hair and if I am going away for a longer time I always take with me a good shampoo. In case I have a hand luggage and very limited space, I try to take with me a shampoo that can also work as a conditioner (for some reason I am not that keen for 2 in 1 obvious products). Usually I look for something with oils, hydrolysed protein or amino acids, maybe salicylic acid, to maintain my scalp happy. However, I am a woman that loves freebies and goodies, I constantly collect sample/one time wash hair shampoo or conditioners, it is a great way to test something before buying (such as Alterna products, they are pricey but good!) or they are super convenient for travelling!

Treat yourself and your hair – For those exciting trips I like to book a hair appointment a day before my trip. I really enjoy going to hair salon and getting a fresh haircut, even though I don’t do that very often. However, before going away for someones birthday or romantic weekend it is a great way to sort your hair and not to worry about if for a couple of days. I did that before going away to Hamburg, booked a haircut and slept with my curls attached with bobby pins. The next day I waved my hair and I had great volume and curls – everything what I wanted for a two day trip!
I truly believe that travelling is a great way to let the hair down and I wish I could that more often. Do you travel a lot? Maybe you have some special haircare tricks during your travelling? Let me know!
