Batiste Instant Conditioning – review

I remember the days when I used to wash my hair every single day. Right now I am sitting and thinking how on earth I had enough time for that?! My haircare routine now is washing hair twice a week and using dry shampoo, so when I saw Batiste Instant Conditioner Repair & Restore I was very intrigued. Is it possible that notwashinghairdays just got much better?!

It says on the bottle that this hair conditioner improves the condition of the hair, adds moisture, reduces flyaways and frizz. Overall sounds pretty good!

Let’s look at the ingredients – certainly contains a lot of conditioning agents such as  Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Glycine Soja Extract, Tocopherol,  Plukenetia Volubilllis Seed Oil. These compounds allow to hold the moisture on the hair and control the appearance of the frizz that sometimes appear on day two or three after washing the hair.

I was pretty pleased when I saw Cocoyl Hydrolyzed Keratin and Ethyl Ester of Hydrolyzed Silk, even though  one of them is  completely at the bottom of the list , which means tiny tiny amounts are added. These ingredients work by adding more conditioning to the hair, which allows hair look more healthy and shiny. I also found Panthenol, vitamin B5 derivative, which can increase hair body, enhance the look of the hair and and overall improve the texture of the hair. Win Win Win!

Once we know what is in there, let’s cover my personal experience using Batiste product:

Smell – 8/10 it does not have that strong powerful smell , which I do like

Application on hair – 8/10

Hair feeling – 6.5/10 I might added slightly too much of this because my hair actually felt a bit sticky and ‘wet’

Overall rating – 7/10

Would I buy this particular Batiste product again?  I don’t think so, because my hair is not dry and I tend to do a lot of after shower conditioning. When I used it I can’t say I noticed huge hair structure improvement. However, someone who suffers from very dry hair and ends might consider purchasing this product or someone with long hair that might want to add more moisture.

Have you tried this product before? Or maybe there is something else you enjoy? Please let me know!

Have a wonderful day xx

  • I’m not a huge fan of Batiste, I feel like they all leave a “film” on my hair. Not something you want! I swear by Lush ‘No Drought” dry shampoo, its fabulous. Works really well with a spritz of their sea salt spray too!

Same here, I used Batiste dry shampoo but it is not something I would go back. I got intrigued to use this dry conditioner, but as I said I dont think I will purchase it again! Oh I heard a lot of good words about LUSH hair products and I used to work in LUSH during undergraduate days – maybe it is a sign I need to go back! xx

I’ve had allergic reactions to this brand so stay clear! I use Yes to Cucumber a lot

I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of Batiste, but I was intrigued to try this! xx
