I always had passion for hair products, even before I started PhD in hair biology. Different bottles, the smell, the consistency – everything matters when it comes to buying a new hair goodie. I thought it is about time I share my most favourite hair brands with you and why I think they are great!
I don’t think L’Oreal as a brand needs a big introduction. There are several reasons why I love this brand . First of all, the variety of products – you can get more simple shampoos for a couple of pounds or expensive ones, salon based, such as Kerastase. There are always new products worth trying and I can always find something worth money and time. As from a science point of view L’Oreal is one of the companies that is always involved in the hair research. L’Oreal contributes to the science by publishing new research articles related to skin and hair. L’Oreal is extremely supportive of Women in Science role , which is always amazing and more companies should be doing that. Thumbs up for L’Oreal!

Sukin is my new favourite brand that I came across not that long ago. What I really like that this brand is natural, vegan and has a great variety of products rich in fantastic ingredients. I have been using Sukin hair conditioner for a while now (read full review) and I am already thinking about getting a few more bottles in advance. From scientific point of view, I haven’t seen any research that Sukin does but the products they have are genuinely good products. Thumbs up for Sukin!

I never been into hair styling that much as I have very long and straight hair. However, in the last couple of years I have been trying to learn how to style my hair a bit more. Nice beachy waves or curls, something to help me feel a bit more special. I don’t own ghd styling curling iron, but one day I will! What I really love is ghd split end therapy product, which is one of the best products I have ever used. Also, all the pre-styling products are truly the best, because they really protect against hair damage. As a hair scientist, I really appreciate ghd niche – they are very hair styling based. All their products and research goes to understanding how hair can be changed and how to have minimal damage as possible. Thumbs up for ghd and I am putting extra pound into my savings to get ghd curling wand!
