Right now my days are full of reading and writing about hair follicle as my PhD is coming to the end
(applause please!). Blogging for me has not been a priority recently and sometimes I even wonder whether anyone even reads my blog?! However, today is a new day, I am full of positivity, my hair looks pretty and I thought it is about time I write something fun.
I am currently 26 years old and of course I have learned a lot not only about myself as a person but also about my hair and what serious mistakes I have done. Let’s imagine I just created a time machine and I can travel in time to meet myself being a teenager.
That’s what I would say to younger myself:
Laura – be grateful that your mother is stopping you from getting dreadlocks or dying your hair pink. Trust me , you will be grateful (Did anyone else had serious obsession with SKA era?!)
Laura – fringe does not suit you. Trust me it does NOT! Not even a side fringe, just forget that (oh there was a lot tears and a lot of hairspray trying to ‘glue’ my fringe to my scalp)
Laura – stop washing your hair every single day. I was obsessed with washing my hair every day, sometimes even twice a day if I was about to go out. Everyday hair washing makes scalp more sensitive, hair more dry and most important you spend too much money on shampoo!
Laura – hair oil is your best friend. I wish I was using hair oil more often, after days being in the sun, swimming in the sea or after styling my hair. Hair oils are very versatile, extra moisture is something that our hair loves, you can skip conditioner but having hair oil is great for your hair!
Laura – use heat protection. I only started using heat protection in the last two years and I certainly noticed a difference (together with not washing my hair daily). Heat protection is great to add extra coat on our hair, especially the ends that tend to get damaged most. Hair drying, styling, sun – use heat protection!
Even though I learned from my past mistakes I believe in the future I will learn even more.
If you could travel in time what would you say to younger yourself and what mistakes you would correct? Please share!
Have a wonderfulday xx
